Background to Fintry

Fintry Development Trust is a community development trust based in the village of Fintry, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Its aim is to promote the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency within the community to reduce C02 emissions and the effects of global warming.

The BBC ran a fascinating report on the Fintry project under the headline

"Visionary villagers put Fintry on the map"

They reported the remarkable news that in the two years since the turbinebegan producing energy, it has generated more than £200,000 for Fintry. That cash has gone towards insulating 50% of the homes in the village,with plans to insulate more and help households convert to greener energy.
